About Us

Bear Creek Leather is a family-owned and operated custom leather shop located in the heart of New Braunfels, Texas. Every piece we create is hand cut and hand sewn by our family in our Hill Country workshop, using traditional methods and an uncompromising attention to detail.

Our story began in 2007, when founder and owner Doug started crafting leather holsters— work that continues today through Bear Creek Holsters. (www.bearcreekholsters.com) In 2016, Doug’s son William joined the business, and soon after, Bear Creek Leather was born. Together, we set out to create timeless leather goods designed for everyday use.

We carefully select high-quality leather hides chosen not only for their beauty, but for their durability and character. Our leather is meant to age gracefully, developing a rich patina that tells the story of how it’s been used and loved over time. Each of our patterns is designed in-house, and many of our bags are named to honor the people who inspired them.

Because every item is made by hand, we’re often able to work closely with clients to create custom pieces that fit their needs. Custom consultations are available by appointment—feel free to call and schedule time with us in the shop.
